For many, the car is the natural choice, with a beautiful drive along the coast.
If you are coming from far away, you can fly to Kristiansund and continue with a hire car.

Here you will find answers to most things you need to know before you come to Grautaneset.
What is the difference between Speilet and Mirant?
Both are exclusive mirror houses with a private hot tub and proximity to nature. Mirant is the largest house and features a separate bedroom with a skylight, an oven, a dishwasher and a freezer. Speilet has a more compact and open-plan layout with panoramic views from the bed.
How do we book a stay or gift card?

Do we need a car to get to Grautaneset?
Yes, we recommend hiring a car if you are arriving by plane. The travel time from Kristiansund Airport, Kvernberget is approximately one hour, including the ferry. From Trondheim Airport, Værnes, the drive takes about 3 to 3.5 hours.
When are check-in and check-out?
There are different check-in and check-out times for Speilet and Mirant. At Speilet, check-in is at 16:00 and check-out is at 13:00. At Mirant, check-in is at 14:00 and check-out is at 11:00.
Can we live at Grautaneset all year round?
Yes, both Speilet and Mirant are open all year round. The houses have underfloor heating and a heat pump, so you can enjoy your stay in comfort whatever the season. In autumn and winter there can be very strong winds, and we may cancel bookings if the wind is very strong.
Am I allowed to bring my own food?
Unfortunately, we do not serve food, and meals must be prepared yourself. Coffee, tea, salt and sugar are already in the kitchen.
Do the houses have kitchens?
Yes, both houses have basic kitchens and what you need to prepare simple meals. Both houses have a fridge, wine cooler, hobs, coffee machine and an outdoor gas barbecue. Mirant also has an oven and a dishwasher. Naturally, glasses, cutlery, plates, saucepans, frying pans, etc. are also there.
Do both mirror houses have a private hot tub?
Yes, both Speilet and Mirant have their own private, electric hot tub. The hot tub is heated and ready for use when you arrive.
Are there towels, bed linen and bathrobes at the place
Yes, the beds have been made for when you arrive. Towels and a bathroobe are also there.
What can we do during our stay?
Many come here primarily to find peace and quiet, enjoy the view and be together without interruptions. The area also offers great mountain walks, beautiful coastal scenery and good opportunities for exploring the local area
Is there Wi-Fi and a TV in the houses?
Both houses have free Wi-Fi. Only Mirant has a TV. You can use popular streaming services or cast content from your own phone or device. Remember to log out of your own streaming services before departure.
Where is Grautaneset located?
Grautaneset is situated on Stabblandet in Aure municipality in Nordmøre, surrounded by mountains, the sea and beautiful coastal scenery. Grautaneset has no street address, but you can find your way by looking at the map at the very bottom of the page.
