Fly into Kristiansund, pick up a rental car and follow the coast towards Tustna.

Where is Grautaneset located?
Grautaneset is located on the island of Stabblandet on Norway’s beautiful west coast, approximately one hour from Kristiansund.
Which airport is closest to Grautaneset?
Kristiansund Airport, Kvernberget, is the closest airport. Trondheim Airport is a larger alternative, approximately 3–3.5 hours away by car.
Do we need to rent a car?
Yes, we strongly recommend renting a car. Public transport in the area is limited, and a car gives you the freedom to explore the surrounding islands and attractions.
Is Grautaneset easy to reach by car?
Yes. You can drive all the way to Grautaneset, although some routes include a short ferry crossing. The final part of the journey takes you through beautiful coastal scenery.
Is parking available?
Yes, free private parking is available close to the accommodation.
How remote is Grautaneset?
Grautaneset feels wonderfully secluded and peaceful, but the nearest grocery shop is only around 10 kilometres away.
Should we buy groceries before arriving?
We recommend buying groceries before check-in, particularly if you are arriving late. Both accommodations have facilities for preparing meals.
Are the hot tubs private?
Yes. Each accommodation has its own private outdoor hot tub, exclusively for you during your stay.
Will we have complete privacy?
Yes. Both accommodations are designed to offer privacy and tranquillity, making Grautaneset especially suitable for couples.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available during your stay.
Can we see the Northern Lights?
The Northern Lights can sometimes be seen during clear, dark nights from autumn to early spring. However, as this is a natural phenomenon, sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Does Grautaneset have the Midnight Sun?
Grautaneset is south of the Arctic Circle, so there is no true Midnight Sun. However, summer nights are exceptionally bright, with very long days and beautiful late sunsets.
What is the weather like?
Coastal weather can change quickly, especially during autumn and winter, when strong winds may occasionally occur. We monitor the forecast closely, and in rare cases, a stay may need to be cancelled if conditions could affect our guests’ safety or comfort. We recommend bringing waterproof clothing, comfortable shoes and warm layers throughout the year.
Is Grautaneset open during winter?
Yes, both Mirror and Mirant are open throughout the year. The road is cleared when necessary, but winter driving experience is recommended during snowy or icy conditions.
What time are check-in and check-out?
Mirror:
Check-in is from 4:00 pm, and check-out is by 1:00 pm.
Mirant:
Check-in is from 2:00 pm, and check-out is by 11:00 am.
How long should we stay?
We recommend staying for at least two nights. This gives you time to relax, enjoy the hot tub and explore some of the beautiful surrounding area.
Do people in the area speak English?
Yes. English is widely spoken in Norway, and we are happy to communicate with our international guests in English.
